  • Women's micro crew socks average 7.5 in. from heel to cuff - expect them to show about 5 in. above a low hiking shoe or just above a standard hiking boot.
  • A performance fit means no slipping, no bunching, no blisters for peak hiking comfort.
  • Merino Wool is at home on the trail, naturally moving moisture to keep feet fresh and dry in all weather.
  • Our warmest socks - heavyweight socks regulate heat, transfer moisture, and provide steady comfort in cold weather.
  • Reinforced Achilles cushion improves the comfort of our socks and helps them last longer.
  • We close every toe seam using our True Seamless™ Toe technology for an ultra smooth, undetectable feel.
  • The “still” in Still Made in Vermont, USA is personal. We knit all our socks at our VT-based Mills - we can't imagine it any other way.
  • Unconditionally Guaranteed for Life - if these aren’t the longest lasting socks you’ve ever owned, return them for another pair.

Plush and cozy

"These are very plush and cozy. Great for inside boots and clogs or inside slippers on really chilly days."

Best warm and tough socks

"They’re warm and tough, which is what I need. I have peripheral neuropathy and always have cold feet and toes. Darn tough is the only brand I wear now. . always the warmest I can get. They wear like iron. The only issue is they run tight."

The only sock I'll wear!

"One thing I like about Darn Tough socks that I don't see people talking about much, is that they FIT - I hate the 'one size fits all' that applies to most sock brands. And they are so comfy (I got my sister hooked on them, too!) And they actually stand behind the lifetime warrantee, I've worn out a couple pair and it's always been handled hassle-free"

I bought them to wear

"I bought them to wear around the house instead of slippers. They are very comfortable and fit just right. They are the Goldilocks of socks. Not too loose nor too tight. They are thicker than what I usually wear but I don’t mind them. They do not bunch up."

Tina S. (5/5)

Very comfortable and warm!

"These socks are extremely comfortable and warm. I plan to buy another pair. I already own lightweight and medium-weight socks, as well as snowboarding socks from Darn Tough, and this was my first time trying the heavyweight version. They are perfect for cold walks along the river with rain boots. Even on very cold mornings, my toes stay warm. The merino wool feels gentle on my skin, and I love the color as well."

Great warm weather boot socks

"Got these for my wife in the cold weather and she won’t take them off. Shipping was insanely fast and they’re well cushioned for use without any shoes inside. She’s petite and only complaint is they’re a little tight (size s) on her calves but they’ll probably be perfect once broken in. Can’t say enough good things about darn tough socks. Got my first 6 pairs in the military about 10 years ago, have bought a dozen or so since in every style. Never had a hole, snag, loose elastic, or any other issue."

Daniel M. (5/5)

Darn Tough and Darn Comfortable

"I love these socks so much - so thick and cozy and perfect for hiking in weather. This is one of two pair of heavier weight Darn Toughs, and I look forward to my first big hike in them. I bought three pair of DT last year for a big trip that involved a 75 mile hillwalk in Wales. I got them because I loved the way they look and feel, but I did NOT know about the replacement policy. Now I'm even happier, every time I open my sock drawer!"

Wonderful socks I love them

"Wonderful socks I love them"

Perfection for me

"These socks are the best Darn Tough socks I have ever owned. When wearing boots whose manufacturers don't offer half sizes, I always have to order up a size. These socks make the boots fit perfectly. They are thick enough to make the boots fit so my feet aren't sliding around. The socks stay put, keep my feet warm even in frigid temperatures. As always, the guarantee is a plus. Thank you for a perfect product."

Margaret S. (5/5)

Another winner!

"I wanted another pair of warm socks for walking in the winter. I read an article on Darn Tough’s website about people who wore this socks while hiking Mt. Everest. I thought, well, if they’re warm enough for Everest, they must be warm enough for Michigan. I was right. Warm, soft and comfy and great fit in my hiking boots."

Q&A

If my size mediums feel kind of tight around my toes, should I try a large? I wear an 8 1/2 to 9 women’s shoe.
Hi Michele! Our socks are made with a performance fit in mind so they will fit snug on the foot but shouldn't feel too tight. If you find that the socks are specifically tight in the toes causing them to squeeze together it typically means they are too small. We would recommend going up a size to see if those fit better!
