You asked, and we listened. Our Light Hiker boot sock, now available in a taller height, is the solution. While providing all the benefits of Merino Wool — durability, thermoregulation, and odor-resistance — this taller height adds tick protection and shin cushioning. Reinforced at the toe and heel, and featuring light cushioning, these will keep your feet comfortable during all-day explorations.

  • Women's boot socks average 10.5 in. from heel to cuff - expect them to show about 4 in. above a standard hiking boot.
  • A performance fit means no slipping, no bunching, no blisters for peak hiking comfort.
  • Merino Wool is at home on the trail, naturally moving moisture to keep feet fresh and dry in all weather.
  • Lightweight socks breathe naturally and deliver flexible, all-day comfort for summer hiking.
  • We close every toe seam using our True Seamless™ Toe technology for an ultra smooth, undetectable feel.
  • Reinforced Achilles cushion improves the comfort of our socks and helps them last longer.
  • The “still” in Still Made in Vermont, USA is personal. We knit all our socks at our VT-based Mills using the highest quality yarns, sourced from around the globe.
  • Unconditionally Guaranteed for Life - if these aren’t the longest lasting socks you’ve ever owned, return them for another pair.

Unrivaled Durability

We make one thing, and we make it better than anyone else – ask any thru hiker and you will likely hear the same. In order to unconditionally guarantee a hiking sock for life, it must be durable. It must maintain its comfort, and it has to fit for miles upon miles on-trail. The socks that do return through warranty inform how we can improve. And we do. Our guarantee is a promise to you, but it’s a standard for us. We have yet to produce our best sock, but we get better with every step.

the socks that keep up with me

"I have worn darn tough since 2018-landscaping, BLM fencer, USFS mule packer, trailwork, and these socks are my constant companion. No slip, no fail, and when they wear out you can send them back- Buy it for life. . ."

Best choice for warm weather hiking

"I wanted a taller sock for hiking as I use taller boots. I get rashes in warmer weather around my upper ankles so I wanted to try a lighter weight sock. I also use light weight liners because my skin is allergic to wool - even merino wool, and my feet sweat a good amount. I tried these socks on a warm dry day. They were comfortable but I still developed a rash on the back of my ankle/calf. I will still use them with a liner as they were cooler than my other smart wool socks."

Great Socks

"Very happy with these. They are lightweight for the warmer weather and high enough that I can tuck my pants into them for tick prevention. Great for hiking."

"Have had many pairs of these socks over the years and I love the feel of them on my feet. Happy when I see them as my next pair in my drawer to wear. lol"

Good for warm weather

"I wear these for work with steel toe boots and I find them comfortable in hot weather. They're much thinner than my other darn tough socks. Hopefully they are equally as durable, I haven't had them long enough to say yet though"

Emily F. (5/5)

So comfortable!!!

"Walked 10 miles in new Darn Tough light hikers, not one hot spot, I've many miles in other Darn Tough socks and they are the only ones I will wear on long hikes."

Best Socks

"These lightweight hiking/boot socks are great for hiking or anything else. They are cushioned so my feet stay happy all day. They're comfortable with my hiking boots or my OnCloud shoes for walking, etc. I also have a shorter version of this same sock for warmer weather."
