All-Day Merino Wool Comfort

To say we knit with the finest yarns is both a statement of quality and comfort. Merino Wool yarn is indeed a fine yarn – thin, silky, nothing like rag wool. For our more casual socks and dress socks, we knit using our thinnest Merino with a watchful eye over a performance fit. This means our lifestyle socks are sublimely smooth and wrap your foot, truly seamlessly, without bunching or slipping. Add wool’s ability to stay dry, resist odor, and regulate temperature, and you have all-day comfort. At least.

Disappointed in New Style

"I thought that the "shortie" was way too short but got it as a replacement under warranty. Years ago I started buying the heavy duty socks, some now are 10 years and no warranty claim. However, I tried the "tactical" or military olive green-lasted 14 months. Will not buy another brand of sock just disappointed in the "shorty". Too short and looks like they skimped on the padding."

Pretty solid pair of socks,

"Pretty solid pair of socks, the heavy weight build plus full cushion is nice for at home wearing and the occasional walk around the neighborhood. However given the heavyweight build, it's not quite as nice for the workday for me. Would like to see some midweight full-cushion quarter and shorty socks from Darn Tough in a variety of colors. that would be the highest value from me. Ordering process was very nice and no issues there."

What Socks Should Be

"I have a hot head and cold feet, I rely on Darn Tough all day long everywhere I go, without worries of socks going cold and icky halfway through a warm day or a chilly night. I get a size up on all socks to avoid constriction, old people problems, and essentially live in these heavyweight shorties anytime I'm not wearing other variants for outside and away tasks, I sleep in them too, beats wearing three pairs of inferior socks and still being cold; yet they are never too hot. Anything short of quality merino wool socks are essentially a sad subscription service that will never live up to the hype or the cost, and if times get hard lesser socks will leave people cold and bare. All socks should be so wonderful! It's a shame it took me so long to discover them!"

Brian B. (5/5)

Love these!

"Love these shorties. I tend to wear them around the house as I prefer a thinner sock with my sneakers. However, they have proven essential this winter. They're comfy, wash well (I don't put them in the dryer) and are a great winter-weight."

Dawn M. (5/5)

More Sweater than Sock

"More like a sweater than a sock. I originally got one as a gift, then another for myself when they complimented the beach-like colors and the soft design. The fit is larger I think than other larges, still fit well but would caution if you are between sizes. Since it is such a thick sock, you may not be able to wear certain shoes with it. Definitely weekend apparel."

Patryk B. (5/5)

Like the sock and color.

"Like this sock. Very comfortable and XL size fits me perfectly. Only problem I have is getting holes in the toes. Darn Tough is great in exchanging them once that happens"

Jon Y. (4/5)

Perfect amount of cushioning

"These socks have plenty of cushioning. They feel soft, not too tight, not too loose. Needless to say, darn, tough socks are tough and stand up to the test of time. I love that they keep your feet dry in summer and in winter and your feet never smell when wearing darn tough socks. Therefore, they do not need to be washed very frequently, adding to their longevity."

great feel and fit. Excellent

"great feel and fit. Excellent socks I plan to buy in every color configuration"

Richard M. (5/5)

Wear concerns starting with first time wearing!

"I wore these 1 time to ride an exercise bike without shoes (just socks) and after there was visible wear spot on the right foot sock! It has steadily gotten a bit worse so I am rotating feet each time. I ride for 2hrs every day and I am concerned with the wear pattern. So far it is a bit deeper than superficial. Have to say my Thorlo socks held up better but unfortunately they were not full foot cushioned!"

Robert D. (2/5)

Cushion and Warmth

"Finally! These are the socks I have been looking for! They are so warm and comfortable! The cushion is just right. Super soft but doesn't make my shoes feel tight. I will absolutely be buying more."

Q&A

My foot size is 12. I assume the socks will shrink a little after washing. What size of socks I should get, X or XL?
We would recommend a size small, unless you have a wider fit, then we would recommend sizing up!
